Prophets don’t Tweet “I Told You So”

The story of Jonah doesn’t end with a whale, but with a prophet angry that grace was given to people he thought didn’t deserve it. In the wake of the tragic Texas floods, some reactions echoed Jonah’s misplaced anger—suggesting victims “got what they voted for.” But the book of Jonah reminds us: God’s concern is with all life, regardless of geography, politics, or perceived worth—and so should ours be.
