When Identity Becomes Idolatry

Flattery—whether in personal relationships, politics, or theology—shows how shallow praise can manipulate and mislead. While identity is important and worth honoring, centering it above Christ risks turning faith into a form of self-exaltation. True friendship and true theologs are marked not by flattery but by honesty, humility, and a gospel that both dignifies and corrects us.
